Exploring Peru with a group of tourist, one of the group members asked.....How Peru got its name Peru????

When, Spanish conquistadors started their first explorations to the Southern Emisphere around early 1530´s, one of the first native groups they met were the Pirus or Virus. 

That´s how this country was named Perú.

So, how Machupicchu got its name???

Machupicchu comes from the Perú´s native languaje named Quechua and it means...Old mountain.

Then, I had a question for all of them.....

How many varieties of potatoes only Cusco produces and are officially registered????
